It is with great shock, disbelief and grief that we have to say goodbye to our colleague Douglas Ndunda Kimeu, who has been by our side since the foundation stone has been set for the Maisha Mazuri Children Center.
Kimeu has managed and supplied our large ecological farm with a lot of conviction, passion and full commitment. The harmony with nature was a great concern for him, which he applied with a lot of knowledge and intuition.
He loved to have the children and young people of our project around him, to inspire them for plants and agriculture, to work and cook with them, to read and discuss newspapers with them – all with patience, serenity and humor.
Kimeu died completely unexpectedly, and the staff at the nearby hospital could not do anything for him by the time he arrived. Our condolences go out to his wife and six children. We are entirely grateful for the time we had with him.
